Turning Biotech Ideas into Impact

We empower scientists, researchers, and other life-science professionals to transform their innovations into mission-driven ventures and careers. With five expert-led modules of 2.5 days each, personalized coaching, and a strong network of peers and mentors, the Masterclass equips participants to excel in the biotech and life sciences sectors.

Organization & Partners

BioBusinessMasterclass has nearly 30 years of history in the life sciences sector. Founded in 1998 by Niaba, the programme has been carried forward by leading organisations including the BioPartner Network, hollandbio, and Wageningen University, securing its long-term impact within the Dutch biotech ecosystem. Due to a lack of funding, the programme was discontinued in 2014.

In 2024, the BioBusiness Masterclass was relaunched through the initiative and financial commitment of one of its own alumni, Wietse Mulder, demonstrating both the programs proven success and the enduring strength of its community. The business knowledge he gained during the Masterclass in 2004 played a key role in the successful founding of GenDx in 2005. He is now committed to sharing this experience with the next generation of biotech entrepreneurs.

We are greatful for the support of hollandbio, including to have the pitches of the two finalists at the plenary session of the Dutch Biotech Summer event. In addition, the winner receives a monetary award of € 25.000,- provided by Myosotis Investments.
